Despite the success of RedLaser and Android's litany of bar-code scanning apps (ShopSavvy, CompareEverywhere, Andora, Google Goggles, NexTag, SnapTell, Amazon -- the latter two which also exist on iPhone) I'm sure we haven't hit the tipping point for non-geek users. But two central questions (for me) remain:
1. Will Brands / Retail stores need to "defend" against the comparison shopping enabled by bar-code scanning apps?
2. Even though Android apps seem superior, like-it-or-not it appears Apple's app-store is simply a better marketplace for developers. How long will this be the case?
